Troubles

October 23, 2010

I have been on Facebook for several months in an effert to market my work, but I don't feel it has worked for me. Don't get much feedback and I don't think anybody knows I am on facebook. Anyway, I created a "like" page to see if my "friends" would see it. I got very confused with facebook's directions so I left it when I thought it was incomplete. Well, three days ago I get a very nasty e-mail because I tagged soneone to sell my jewelry !!! I got three more e-mails, a little anoyed with me but not nasty. I honestly did not tag anyone and I have no idea how this happened. I tried to contact facebook for help but since you can't talk to anyone, I got no answer. Now I pray every time I open my e-mail.

I have listed some new items on my etsy shop, look and see if you like them

Here is the picture to the Bargello bracelet

Two new listings

March 23, 2010

I have been reading articles about blogging, they say you have to blog 5 - 6 times a week and always have something interesting to say. Not necessarily about what I do, or about what others do, not about politics, social issues or about myself. So, what else is there to talk about and always be interesting? I give up. I am going to tell you of the pieces I list on etsy and you don't have read it if you don't want to.

The tiger eye free-form bracelet is an older piece and has a matching necklace which I will be listed soon. It has shades of green and metallic bronze and is gorgeous. The bargello bracelet is bright with blues, turquoise, lime and brown and is made in Ndebele.

I have been gone all the month of February, not really gone, just absent from the world, and this was due to an adverse reaction to some new medication, it was awful but I an feeling myself again. To keep up with my etsy shop, all I did was renew my expired items. Now, I just listed my new Blue Patchwork bracelet. It took a long time to make but I think it is pretty, hope you all like it

A Heart with a Heart

January 30, 2010

As Valentine's Day approaches, it occurred to me that I don't have anything to commemorate Love, Lovers etc. Since I learned to do bead embroidery from Sheri Serafini a few months ago, heart pin/brooches are an easy and quick project to make. I found a mother-of-pearl heart which I put askew from the outside heart and started beading around. I used cranberry red beads, which I like better than bright red beads, so you can wear for Valentine's or any time of the year.

I love the "LOVE" theme, so universal, so important in our lives and as John Lennon said: "what we need is love" and "give love a chance"

Hope you like it

The Bracelet that Made Itself

Beading always calms me down, centers me and takes my mind from the day's problems. So, one day, when my computer was seriously challenging me, I started beading in right angle weave. I had no idea for a project, just beaded for relaxation, when I noticed that I had made it the length of a bracelet. I kept on beading for several days, a little at a time, I added a second row on top of the first when it began to show some potential, but I still had no plans so I kept on beading. Then, one day I looked at it and saw a pretty bracelet, all I had to do was add some embellishment. I added some silver beads to give it some sparkle, some crystals to give it some depth and a fancy toggle clasp and here it is. I think it made itself a pretty special bracelet and I hope you like it

Original Colorblock Cuff

January 15, 2010

This is the original colorblock cuff I made and it was such a success, I made it several more times. The original made the cover of Step by Step Beads, March-April 2007 issue. I made it in Toho triangles in muted colors of blue, green and burgundy and it is outlined in shiny bronze. It is elegant and classy and one of my favorites.

Hope you like it

New listing

January 12, 2010

Just listed a new bracelet on etsy. It is one of my most unusual ones and some may not like it. But that's ok, this bracelet portays who I am and I am proud of it, that's why I call it Perie's bracelet. I started out by mixing beads, different sizes, different colors and shapes, then I did a free-form peyote bracelet with lots of "lakes and bridges" and joined with cultured pearls and other things. You would think that I would be satisfied, but no, I went ahead and put a second layer embellishing all the solid places, and there it is. Conventional? By all means NO!

Hope you like things that are "left of center"

January 10, 2010

Yesterday I wanted to show you the newest bracelet I listed on etsy but could not put the picture on my blog, so here it is today.

I have made this design many times and in many variations, it has been a good seller for me so I made it in this color combination again. Hope you like it

January 9, 2010

I took some time off from posting here because I did not think that anyone read what I wrote or anyone cared, but now that I am officially an etsy Beadweavers member, I feel I have a lot more friends.

One of my New Year's resolutions was to list or renew an item each day on my shop, and so far so good. Look at my newest earrings and bracelet. Hope you like them
